About this project
Ohio is the Buckeye State; this site cracks it open. Cracked Buckeye began in 2026 as the Ohio Tap Water Atlas, a map of where every Ohio ZIP code gets its tap water. It grew into a reference for everything about a place that a public record can tell: 68 topics from EPA, Ohio EPA, the Census Bureau, ODNR, ODOT, NOAA, FEMA, CDC, the county auditors and about two hundred more sources, plus local history researched town by town. Every figure links to its source, and corrections are logged in the open.
